Lavender System

Hi! We're the Lavender System. We're a OSDD system, and we were officially diagnosed in May of 2019. Currently, there are nine of us. We built this website for our friends and family so that some of your questions can be answered and so that you can get to know us a little bit better.

Members

Click on one of the buttons below to see more information about that member of the system.

Adeline

Adeline is the host of the system, meaning that she is the one most often in charge, or "fronting". She is a fictive from Rae's novel, Dances With Death. However, aside from a few small details, she and that Adeline are quite different. Adeline is English, and she loves to draw and paint. She's kind of the "best friend" of the entire group. Adeline is 24 years old, and her birthday (even though she does not age), is on the 23rd of April.

Chloe

Chloe is a newer member of the system. She is 13. She is often very quiet, but that's due to her stutter. When she does speak she's really sweet and fun.

Madison

Madison is our "Southern Belle." She has a southern accent, and loves horses and gardening. She's 22, and she also does not age. She's a little standoffish at first, mostly because she holds the trauma memories of the system. She also doesn't front very often, so you may never meet her, or it might take a while of talking to us before you do.

Marcus

Marcus's age and role are so far unknown. He is sweet and kind, and loves sports, especially basketball. He tends to flirt a lot with people, so don't let that throw you off.

Maria

Maria is our little. She age slides (meaning her age changes) between the ages of 3, 4, and 8. She loves Winne the Pooh and Blue's Clues. She's super cute, and we all love her very much.

Perry

Perry has a lot of roles in our system. He is the protector, who makes sure we stay safe. He's also the system manager, meaning he keeps track of everything going on and also keeps things like our group chat and our journal up to date and running. He's the oldest member of our system, at 27 years old. He's slow to trust people, but once he does, he's a wonderful friend. He loves animals, especially Rae's gecko, Romana.

Rae

Rae is the core of our system, or the "original" person. She's the one you've met and the one that probably first told you about us. Her being part of a system doesn't change who she is or how you know her. If you were her friend, you still are. She loves music and singing and writes novels in her spare time. She's 18, and she ages along with the body (so on August fifth, she will be 19).

Shiloh

Shiloh's age is unknown. She's the gatekeeper of our system, meaning she keeps alters and memories where they belong. She has an odd speech pattern, but don't let it throw you. Shiloh tends to be logical and cold, but despite appearances, she cares a lot about a lot of people. She has been likened to an adult version of Wednesday Addams.

Zoey

Zoey is a fictive from The House of Night book series. Unlike Adeline, Zoey is nearly exactly Zoey Redbird from the books. Zoey is 20 years old, and she loves all things dark and spooky. She is also nocturnal, so you may not meet her for a long time of talking to us. But if or when you do, you'll quickly learn that she is a wonderful person and a great friend.

FAQs

Here's a list of questions we get asked a lot and the answers to them.

What do I do now?

Nothing really needs to change at first. Mostly, we just want to be accepted as we are. All you have to do is be willing to believe us, accept us, and be willing to adapt. If something about the way you treat us needs to change, we will tell you.

How am I supposed to talk to Rae's alters?

The most important thing to remember is that, while we've been pretending to be Rae for years, we don't know you as us. Just because you are besties with Rae does not mean you are besties with us. Some of us will (like Madison or Perry), will be very wary of you at first. However, others (like Zoey or Adeline) will be very open and will be willing to quickly bond with you. Like real people, each one of us is different. Other than that, you can just talk to us like you'd talk to anyone else.

Where do you guys come from?

OSDD is caused by trauma, which creates multiple personalities. It's psychology. This is not caused by possession or anything like that. It's caused by a strange thing within our brain.

How can I tell who's fronting?

Most of the time, you can just ask! We usually default to acting like Rae, just in case, but around a few people, we're willing to be ourselves. When we're being ourselves, we're quite easy to tell apart. Adeline has an English accent, Madison has a southern accent, Shiloh doesn't use contractions, and we all have slightly different postures. You'll get the hang of it eventually, but we don't mind clarifying for you if you can't tell who we are!

Isn't OSDD trauma based? What is your trauma?

Please, never ask us this. This is a very personal question, and it's one that we will not want to answer. If we trust you, we may tell you of our own accord, but please don't rush us by asking. No matter who you are to us, you are not entitled to that knowledge, and we don't have to tell you.

Why did I never notice anything?

Disorders like OSDD are made to be hidden. We're all very good at pretending to be Rae. So good at it that you probably never noticed.

Where can I learn more?

There are many places online that one can go to learn about it. We personally really like the DissociaDID YouTube channel and Traumadissociation.com. You can also feel free to ask us questions! We'd be happy to answer any questions you have as long as they are phrased in a kind and loving manner rather that a hostile one.
